3 Day Intensive: Student Information

Austin Reiki Master Petter quote

IMPORTANT POLICIES

Please read our POLICIES page for information about rescheduling, refunds, cancellations, inclement weather, and privacy.

TIMES

10am-6pm daily

Please arrive early enough to have a bathroom break and get settled so that we can start at 10am. Arriving on time and helping keep to the agenda without too many side discussions will help ensure we don’t go late.

Please map the location (in your confirmation email) ahead of time so that you can plan accordingly for drive times.

PREPARATION

GET A TASTE OF REIKI: While is is NOT required, you may consider having a private session (or attend a Reiki Share) before class to get your chakras as clear and aligned as possible to prepare your energy body for your weekend experience. Think of it as pre-cleaning step like scraping big food scraps in the trash before you put the plate in the dishwasher.  If you have never received a Reiki session before, it would be cool to experience the Reiki energy first. Bonus - we would get to meet each other before class.

WHAT TO DO:  There is nothing specific you are required to do, eat, read, or meditate on prior to class. However, it is considered good practice to refrain from drugs, excessive caffeine, and alcohol for at least a few days prior to class, as those can affect your vibration. DO NOT stop taking your prescription medications.  Arrive open to the experience for your highest and best good.

WHAT ARE YOU READY TO RELEASE? We do an intense meditation on Day 3 that is intended to dislodge old stuck energy. This can sometimes be triggering (that is the purpose) so I wanted to give you a heads up. Think about what you are ready to release so you can leave the highest vibration you can be.

IMPORTANT PRE-CLASS HOMEWORK

This class is very hands-on experiential. On the morning of DAY 3, you will learn how to do a long-distance Reiki treatment, and we’ll practice it in the class. This is a silent, remote session. No texts, phone calls, or Zoom will take place before or during the session itself.

Here is your homework of what you need to do before class:

1.  Choose the right person: Find a volunteer (friend/family) to let you do a treatment on them from 10:45-11:30 am, Central time. Choose someone who will be receptive, grateful, and open to the experience, and who be able to notice and give you feedback on what they felt. Choose someone who is responsible enough to keep track of time themselves because you will NOT be contacting them before or during the session.

2.  Instructions for the participant: Ask the participant to set an alarm or reminder on their phone for 10:35 am so that they can get themselves in a quiet environment, seated or, preferably, reclining so that they are ready to start exactly at 10:45 am. Invite them to play their favorite meditation music or just be silent. Be clear that you will NOT be texting or calling them before or during the session. Ask them to notice any physical or emotional sensations they feel during the session. Tell them that you will call them when the class breaks for lunch (usually between 1:30-2:30pm) to talk to them about what they experienced.

3.  The night before (Class Day 2): Contact your person to confirm they understand the instructions.

4.  Post Session: You will call your person for feedback when we break for lunch that day, usually between 1:30-2:30pm.

OPTIONAL: You may bring a small doll or stuffed animal to use as a practice tool for this session, and perhaps gift it to the recipient later.

FOOD

Please bring your own lunch each day and enjoy having social time with the class. This also allows us to take a shorter lunch and get started back to class more quickly.

You will have access to the kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave).

Note that food delivery services are limited and NOT consistently reliable here, as it is a rural area. (horror stories, really!)

I provide a few snacks and water. Feel free to bring whatever snacks you like for breaks.

CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES

Loose, comfortable, casual. There’ll be a chance to walk around outside on breaks, so layer accordingly and closed toe shoes would be recommended.  You’ll stay fully clothed for the treatment practice except for shoes, so wear socks if you don’t want to be barefoot. You can bring your favorite pillow and sit on the floor if you prefer that to sitting on the sofa or chairs. Be comfortable.

CONSIDERATIONS

There’s a lot of material to cover so staying on schedule is important so we end on time. Please arrive with enough time to be seated and ready to begin for 10am (or early for coffee/tea and chit chat). My door is open by 9:30am, so just come on in and make yourself at home.

During class, be mindful of side discussions that can get us behind schedule. However, please always ask questions anytime you are unclear.

I am so grateful you have chosen to share your energy and journey with me. I am looking forward to a life changing 3 DAY Intensive with you.
